The Collection: Chromatic Flux

Step into the world of Chromatic Flux, a vibrant and dynamic art collection by Italian artist Michelle Dicostanzo. In this collection, colors collide, overlap, and swirl, creating a visual symphony that resonates deeply with viewers. Each piece pulses with energy, exploring the fluidity of emotions—ranging from love and intimacy to chaos and inner reflection. Dicostanzo masterfully blends bold, sweeping gestures with softer, introspective tones, inviting the audience to connect with the artwork on an emotional level.

Chromatic Flux is more than just an art collection—it is a celebration of life's complexities. The collection embodies the flux of human emotions, where inner and outer worlds are connected through the artist’s use of color and form. Dicostanzo's expressive brushstrokes are quick and decisive, giving life to the dynamic movement within each painting.

About the Artist: Michelle Dicostanzo

Born in 1990 on the island of Ischia, Dicostanzo pursued visual arts.

After graduating in Painting from the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples, he began his artistic journey with acrylic paint, later transitioning to oil paint to enhance the physicality of his work. In summer 2022, Dicostanzo held a personal exhibition at the Museum of the Present (Museo Del Presente) in Rende, a museum located in the modern area of the city that hosts modern and contemporary art, photography exhibitions, cinema forums, performances, and book presentations.

As an emerging artist, he believes in the revealing power of painting, weaving narratives that blur the line between the abstract and the real.

Artistic Philosophy and Exploration

Dicostanzo’s paintings delve into the complexity of life, investigating the parallelism between inner reflection and external visual transformation on the canvas.

His quick, decisive brushstrokes and use of pure colors capture fleeting moments and visceral emotions. Inspired by personal memories and everyday life, Dicostanzo’s work transforms these into vibrant compositions where the human figures are structured, deformed, and decomposed, reflecting the tensions and contradictions of the human experience.

The artist’s process is a dynamic dialogue between control and spontaneity, as he creates, modifies, and restructures lines and figures in a continuous interplay of transformation. Pink serves as a crucial connector between the inner world and reality, reflecting the balance Dicostanzo strives for in his art. The works become a visceral reflection of the emotions felt in the act of creation, as well as in the observation of people and places that have impacted the artist.

Chromatic Flux: The Art in Motion

The artworks in Chromatic Flux transcend traditional representation. Dicostanzo masterfully uses color as a language, with shades of pink, red, and black dancing together to evoke powerful emotions. His art generates a parallelism between inner exploration and pictorial transformation, mediating the mixture of internalized sensations into vivid, expressive imagery.

Through themes of struggle, dance, embrace, rhythm, harmony, and contrast, Dicostanzo’s figures are never static; they are in constant motion, shaped and reshaped by the artist’s quick and fluid gestures. His Chromatic Tensions collection, also exhibited at the Museum of the Present in Rende, emphasized this very movement, using pink as a bridge between the inner and outer worlds.

In Chromatic Flux, Dicostanzo continues this exploration, creating a dialogue between order and spontaneity, producing compositions filled with contrasts, symmetries, and voids that reflect the complexity of human experience. His paintings capture the moment of balance, where visual energy reaches its peak, and a feeling of ecstasy and harmony emerges.
