Karl Russel Matas studied his Bachelor of Fine Arts for 2 years at Silliman University in Dumaguete and 1 year at the University of San Carlos Cebu.

In 2000, he participated in group exhibitions in Cebu and Manila and sold art.

His favorite mediums are oil on canvas, acrylic on canvas, watercolor on paper and charcoal.

Most of his works were written by him at the request of local clients, as well as abroad. He successfully sent his paintings to clients by courier.
